The Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada, Sri N. Prakash, IAS, inaugurated the new Yoga Department at SCS Hospitalon 24/01/2013. Dr. Krishna Sharma, Chairman and Asst.Professor, Deptartment of Yogic Science, Mangalore University was the chief guest. The DC spoke about the importance given to maintaining vehicles, but people need to understand that the body is the most important vehicle to take us through the journey of life which cannot be replaced. Through Yoga we need to maintain it. Stress was laid on the relevance and importance of Yoga in leading a healthy and balanced life.


The yoga training and therapy at SCS Hospital is offered by well trained, experienced Yoga Therapists with expertise. Interested people can obtain the benefit of Yoga services through the following ways:-


Chandrayana Yoga Vrata for Weight Loss Therapy
Duration of Course:1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year


This course is offered for those blessed with good health to maintain and sustain physical and mental wellbeing. In addition, special yoga treatment is given for those experiencing the following health problems: Asthama, Arthritis, Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Backaches, Jointpain, Headache, Sinusitis, Migraine, Hypertension, Hyperacidity, Heart Problems, Obesity, MenstrualDisorders, NervousProblem, Stomachdisorders, Sleep disorders etc..
Duration of Course: 1 month (min.), interested people can register for more than a month.


This club has been designed for every person interested to practice yoga regularly and enjoy the benefits. The yoga club makes available the facility of receiving expert guidance from the specialized trainer in an undisrupted manner in full-fledged yoga set up.

Duration: 6 months or 1 year, sustained yoga practice at very nominal rates.Annual membership is available in two modes, Mode 1- attend and practice Yoga 6 days a week in the presence of the Yoga trainer and get guidance on yoga, diet and nutrition. Mode 2- attend and practice Yoga on alternate days, thrice a week under the guidance of specialized Yoga trainers. The fee structure is different for mode 1 and mode 2. Alternatively people who have completed the foundation Yoga course can take an annual membership to become members of the Yoga club.

From time to time special yoga Camps, Awareness talks and bridge yoga courses are organized by SCS Hospital Yoga Department for the benefit of interested people.
