In the year of 1987, under the guidance of Shri Chandrashekar Sorake, SCS Hospitals Pvt. Ltd was founded by Chairman & Managing Director Dr. Jeevaraj Sorake M.S – leading practitioner & General Surgeon, with the vision to make world class medical treatment & care available in this area. SCS Hospital is the first Hospital in D.K District to admit medico-legal cases and road traffic accident cases. The hospital has grown successfully over the last two decades to 150 beds and over 16 specialty departments.
Sri Sorake Chandrashekar is the guiding force behind the founding of SCS Hospital. The man & his vision are a source of constant inspiration to us in everything we undertake from day to day service to complex new projects. Some people leave an indelible impression on the sands of time, such that everyone who comes in touch with their life story and noble deeds is inspired to emulate their remarkable example and make their own lives worthwhile.
Such is the exemplary example of Sri Sorake Chandrashekar, that even years after he is physically no more with us, his noble ideals & virtuous life full of dedication to serve inspire us in each step and every initiative we undertake.
Sri Sorake Chandrashekar was born on 22 October, 1902 in Sorake Village near Puttur, Dakshina Kannada District. He came to Mangalore in 1914 leaving behind all the ancestral wealth in order to pursue his education. Besides schooling, he constantly educated himself with the wisdom of the ancient saints and seers of India.
A noble man of sterling discipline, he was a very enthusiastic entrepreneur and philanthropist with deep rooted compassion. He was inspired by Shri Narayan guru and was an ardent devotee of Lord Ram. Well versed in the scriptures, he was a shining example of a man who has imbibed the lofty principles of Sanatana Dharma. He lived like an upanishadic seer till May 30 1999.
