The Department of Medical Gastroenterology and Hepatology at SCS Hospital Mangalore is the only centre in DK District with advanced GI motility lab where patients are evaluated for Oesophageal and Anorectal motility disorders with Oesophageal Manometry and Anorectal Manometry respectively.

People with difficulty in swallowing, non cardiac chest pain, fecal incontinence and chronic constipation can benefit extensively from these tests.

The GI motility lab also has the advanced state of the art equipment to evaluate patients with persistent acid/alkali reflux (Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease) using 24 PH Metry and Impedance testing device from Sandhill Inc, Australia.

Evaluation and Treatment of all liver related disorders and pre liver transplant evaluation is routinely done at our centre.
